Even though we hear so much about the “Mobile Enterprise” most of us don’t really know what it all really means or why it matters a lot in the business world. In every business platform, “Mobile Enterprise” plays a very big role, it is a broad term that refers to the business practice of using mobile platforms to run and accomplish every business task. Nearly any kind of job or process that is accomplished on a mobile device, over a mobile platform, constitutes mobile enterprise.

Mobile enterprise involves many different things, but they key feature is the use of mobile devices like a smartphone or a tablet in performing every business or office tasks.

There has been a massive explosion of Mobile Enterprise ever since the quick adoption of mobile devices in the business world in the last 10 years. All thanks to mobile devices, the era of the 9-to-5 job is no more relevant. No need of you commuting to work just to sign in working hours, as you can all do that and even more at the comfort of your home, as long as you have a laptop, smartphone, or tablets with a working internet or Wi-Fi connection. You can file your reports, edit your proposals and more with your mobile device.

There is now a trend called “bring your own device” (BYOD), where employees are being encouraged by their companies to make use of their personal mobile devices to accomplish every cooperative task.

Mobile devices have captured the attention of many business leaders across every vertical industry looking to control and maintain their business security. They have started to migrate security to mobile platforms, as well as data handling and processes in other ways, such that mobile enterprise is now a central part of operations.

A mobile workforce is a group of employees who are scattered across different physical locations and are connected by computers, smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices via the global Internet. With the aid of mobile devices, offsite business workers now have the privilege to access their work files from different locations.

In our current ever-connected world, it only makes sense that we’d take advantage of the technological tools we have available to us.

The Ohio Cooperative utilizes mobile workforce management tools to manage offsite employees working remotely.
